Who We Are
A Considered Approach to Legal Work in Singapore
tessarls was established to provide clear, structured legal support to businesses and individuals navigating work passes, commercial agreements, and document authentication.

How tessarls Came to Be
tessarls was founded by legal professionals who had spent years in Singapore practice and observed a common gap: clients frequently came to matters already late, having struggled to understand what was needed from them. Work pass applications were submitted with missing documents. Contracts were signed without anyone pointing out the clauses that warranted discussion. Documents intended for overseas use arrived at the notary without the right form of execution.
The firm was set up with a direct intention — to handle these matters in a way that keeps the client informed from start to finish. Not with lengthy legal opinions, but with clear checklists, honest timelines, and an explanation of each step in plain language.
tessarls is located in the central business district at Battery Road, and works with businesses hiring foreign talent, companies reviewing their commercial agreements, and individuals requiring authenticated documents for personal or corporate purposes.

Law Society Standards
Practice standards align with the guidelines issued by the Law Society of Singapore, including obligations around client care, fee transparency, and professional conduct.
Client Confidentiality
All client information is handled with strict confidentiality. Data is stored securely and shared only where the client has given consent or where disclosure is required by law.
Document Management
Client files are organised according to a consistent internal framework. Original documents are handled carefully, and certified copies are provided for each notarial matter.
Transparent Fee Disclosure
Fixed fees are communicated clearly before any engagement. Any variation in scope is raised with the client in writing and agreed before additional work proceeds.
Data Security
Client data is stored in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act. Access is limited to relevant team members, and records are retained only as long as legally required.
Our Expertise
Legal Work Grounded in Singapore Practice
tessarls operates within the intersection of three areas where Singapore businesses and individuals regularly encounter legal requirements: employment mobility, commercial documentation, and certification. These are not abstract practice areas — they represent decisions that affect operations, relationships, and cross-border activities on a day-to-day basis.
For businesses hiring from abroad, the work pass process involves eligibility analysis, documentation coordination, and ongoing renewal management. Understanding what MOM assessors look for — and how to present an application that addresses those criteria clearly — takes familiarity with how the system operates in practice, not just on paper.
For contract matters, the value of careful review lies not in identifying every possible legal risk, but in distinguishing the clauses that genuinely require attention from those that are standard. tessarls's contract work is aimed at giving clients a clear picture of what they are agreeing to, with modifications targeted at the areas that matter most to their situation.
Notarisation engagements often involve documents that are unfamiliar to clients — statutory declarations, powers of attorney, or corporate authorisations needed for an overseas process. tessarls's approach is to explain what the document is, why it is needed, and what the client should expect before, during, and after the appointment.
